Head of Gastroenterology, Hawke’s Bay Health NZ
Dr Drori is a highly experienced gastroenterologist and senior endoscopist, with expertise in advanced endoscopic procedures, Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and comprehensive general gastroenterology.
He is currently Head of the Gastroenterology Department at Hawke’s Bay Health NZ, where he leads clinical services and provides high-quality, patient-focused care. Dr Drori brings over a decade of experience in gastroenterology across hospitals in Israel and New Zealand.
Dr Drori graduated magna cum laude from the Hebrew University–Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem and completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Hadassah Medical Centre, where he also served as Chief Resident. He went on to complete advanced training in Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases at Shaare Zedek Medical Centre and continued there as a Senior Consultant Gastroenterologist.
Since relocating to New Zealand in 2021, Dr Drori has worked as a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Senior Endoscopist at Hawke’s Bay Hospital. He was appointed Clinical Lead of the Gastroenterology Service in 2022, and subsequently became Head of Department.
Alongside his public role, Dr Drori has been consulting privately at Royston Hospital since 2022.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Drori provides scientific and medical consultation to technology and start-up companies and has published multiple peer-reviewed scientific articles.
